Learning to read

Here are some activities to help kids learn to read (the Qedoc website has disappeared as I can see, so I have to remake everything). You have to register to enter but it's worth paying a visit - the Dutch website has got a lot of treats for any teacher.   Below are some examples of what you'll see inside.

There is a picture book to help them learn at home. I'm planning to add 1-2 new pages occasionally, so the number of activities will grow.

"Sam and His Friend" - a cartoon comic book for beginners

Here is the first follow-up reading activity for my young students learning to read. They'll get it after going through the first 8 "Let's learn to read" modules. It can be printed, too.

ABC flashcards and game ideas

Here are 4 sets with the cards (with just images, capital letters, small letters and the full set). The ful set contains some cards from the other ones just to save paper. I have used the word "Ukraine" to represent the letter U, but you can easily edit that ( just choose the "Ungroup" option). Print, cut and laminate the cards if you want them to last longer. There are lots of great ideas for learning  the alphabet on Activity Village website.
